Get Your Lash On!

Lashes are one of my most favoured items when it comes to make up. They have the ability to bring an impact and a punch to the simplest of looks and can transform your make up from being daytime appropriate to ready for some night time play.

The most versatile lashes I have come across and my most loved are individual lashes.

Individual lashes are most commonly used for daytime wear as you have the option of adding as much or as little volume as you dare but they can also easily be amped up for the night by adding a lash or two.
And thus, they are by far my favourite type due to their versatility.

I was recently contacted by Beautyy who kindly sent me two boxes of false eyelashes to review.
Beautyy is a new UK based company offering a whole host of different eyelashes at an affordable price. They also stock Eylure falsies including the new Katy Perry range (which I'm buzzing about!).

So on to the lashes!

I'm sure Eylure is a brand we're all familiar with so there's no need for introductions! I myself swear by their lashes, the quality is always on point and with new funky designs and collaborations always coming out, you're never limited for choice.

Naturally, I was squealing with delight as soon as I saw them.

There are 3 different lengths included in this set; short, medium and long. I believe each size is available to purchase individually also. As well as the lashes, Eylure also include their trusty Superfix lash adhesive and Lift Off lash remover which allows you to reuse them over and over again!

My experience with these lashes was fabulous. They were easy to work with and gave me the volume I wanted very easily, I only had to use 4 lashes! I was really impressed with how natural they looked as well, if you're going to be wearing lashes on a daily basis then that's pretty much a requirement and I'm pleased to say they definitely delivered well in that department.

I would recommend trying these lashes out whether you're a lash newbie or an expert with them. Application is easy and quick, they're natural looking, can be reused many times due to the Lift Off lash remover and can be easily built up to suit your needs!

Beautyy Mixed Individual False Eyelash Extensions

These lashes come in a box of 60 and include 14mm, 12mm and 10mm lashes and are a cheaper alternative to the Eylure ones at only £3.69 a box!

I personally preferred using these for daily wear. The reason for that is that the longest lash, the 14mm one, was a lot thinner and a tiny bit shorter than the longest Eylure one. This small difference made these ones a little easier to work with and they blended in with my own eyelashes a lot better.

The quality of these lashes is pretty much on par with the Eylure ones also and they keep that natural look going on too. Looking at both lashes together, the Eylure ones and the Beautyy ones, they pretty much look exactly the same apart from the minor length difference yet the Beautyy ones come with a cheaper price tag.

The only downside to the Beautyy lashes is that they come with no glue or remover but for avid lash users, I'm sure that won't be a problem!

I'm definitely a convert to individual lashes. Mascara just doesn't quite do it for me anymore. Not only do false lashes provide length but they also give your eyelashes some much needed volume as shown above.

There's no need to break the bank to get yourself a nice pair either. I usually use one box a month which probably even ends up being cheaper than buying a tube of mascara as they can dry up pretty quickly. And with a wide array of lashes from Beautyy to choose from I'm sure you'll find that perfect pair to give your eyes that extra something and they're currently offering free delivery too!

My Dior Addiction - Part Deux

Continuing on from my last post (Addicted To Dior), I present to you:
What Dior claim:
A made-to-measure lip balm that beautifies and durably enhances the lips natural color. A customized color result: thanks to its Color Reviver technology, Dior Addict Lip Glow reacts directly with the unique chemistry of each woman's lips before releasing its color ingredient. Lips seem revived from within, amazingly fresh, full and radiant.
Size: 0.12 oz/ 3.5 g
Price: £22.00

The packaging, as with all Dior products is ever so pretty! A silver tube encased in a pink lid. Very sturdy packaging, a pleasure to look at and definitely eye catching!

So as you can see, the balm looks very pink in the tube. It has a very transparent-ish look to it in person rather than being a solid colour. When swatched, it goes on clear with a slight pink sheen to it. I think that is proof enough that it has some sort of magic going on. When I first read up on it, people were saying that it looked a very light, pale pink on them and that is a colour I very much love. A chance to get my perfect pink lip was too enticing to pass up so off I went to purchase it.

For an example of the pink lip I was hoping for you can click here to see another review of the Lip Glow (with lip swatches) by Holly from YM Beauty Blog. The pink just looks absolutely gorgeous on her.

On my own lips it turns more of a fuchsia pink. It really deepens my lip colour and adds a slight touch of pink to it. I would honestly say that this product is perfect for those chicks who have pale lips due to poor blood circulation as it brings your natural lip colour to the surface and adds a hint of pink to it. Very beautiful.

The Lip Glow in action.
Ignore the seriously pale looking face here, I swear it's because of the flash! :P
As a balm, it is the best thing ever. It has a lovely scent which I cannot for the life of me describe. And there is a slight minty feel on application which disappears after a few seconds as does the smell. It makes your lips feel creamily smooth, like butter! I have noticed an improvement in the condition of my lips since I started using this, they are just generally a lot softer now with or without the balm.
Another bonus is the addition of SPF 10 to protect your lips too!

So to wrap up this long review (sorry!) here's a list of the good and the bad:
○ Provides great long-lasting moisturisation
○ Creates a unique lip colour on every individual
○ The end colour will complement every skin tone
○ Has SPF 10
○ Expensive
○ Similar to a tinted lip balm
○ Product finishes quickly
○ No idea of how the balm will be on your lips until you apply it (you might hate it!)

If you are considering purchasing this then you're best bet is to go down to a Dior counter and try it on to see whether you'll like it or not. Personally, I would repurchase this, mainly because as a lip balm it is pretty amazing, it may be overpriced but it works wonders!

Addicted To Dior

It feels like only yesterday that I purchased my first ever Dior make up product.
In actual fact, it came into my possession somewhere round about February.
And 3 months is too long a wait for any Dior Addict.
So of course, I jumped at the chance to visit my Dior counter to grab some more beautiful goodies.
If you haven't ever been to a Dior counter (the horror!), then warning, it's a dangerous place. Be prepared.

The gorgeous Dior bag!
I had to limit myself this time to two products and the two I chose were:

Rosy Glow Healthy Glow Awakening Blush
○ Lip Glow Color Awakening Lipbalm

Anybody notice a pattern there? :P
They're both products that will change colour based on the chemistry of your skin.

Check out the funky Lip Glow packaging.
It's actually silver with a blue and pink sheen, photographs awesomely!

The packaging for the blush is mirrored as you can see above.
I've gotta say I'm really digging it, except for the fact it attracts finger prints within seconds.
Doh!

The blusher itself practically looks neon in the pan. It doesn't convey that well in this picture unfortunately.
I tried playing around with Photoshop a little to see if I could get a closer match to the exact shade.

This was as close as I could get. In all honesty, this picture doesn't do the blush any justice. In reality it's a super vibrant, blue-based bubblegum pink.
Kinda freaky to look at.

What Dior claim:
Rosy Glow reacts with the moisture in each skin type, giving a delicious and subtle blush to the cheeks. When applied, the initially fresh, light colour develops into a rosy blush to suit each individual complexion, for an ultra-natural, tailor-made healthy glow that lasts all day.
Size: 0.26 oz/ 7.5 g
Price: £29.50

I haven't had a chance to wear it out yet, I was very eager to share my lovely new goodies you see, so I can't comment on how it looks on the cheeks. However, after my exams I'll make sure to use it for some of my make up looks that I'll be featuring on The Lipstick Diaries so you lovelies can check it out then!

And I'm going to stop there for now or else this post will end up spanning a couple of pages.
A Lip Glow post will be coming soon! :)
